Refund & Cancellation Policy
We understand that plans can change. We strive to offer fair and clear policies for cancellations and refunds, ensuring transparency and flexibility while also protecting our operational commitments. Please read our policy carefully.
1. General Refund Conditions
All refund requests must be submitted in writing via email to contact@mogotetours.com. Refund eligibility is determined by the timing of your cancellation relative to the scheduled start date of your tour or package, as outlined below. All refunds, if applicable, will be processed to the original payment method used at the time of booking.
2. Cancellation Policy
- Standard Day Tours (e.g., Espiritu Santo Island Tour, Whale Shark Adventure, Balandra Beach Tour):
- More than 7 days prior to tour date: 100% refund of the amount paid.
- 3-7 days prior to tour date: 50% refund of the amount paid.
- Less than 72 hours (3 days) prior to tour date: No refund.
- No-Shows / Late Arrivals: No refund. Clients who do not arrive at the designated meeting point by the scheduled departure time will be considered a “no-show.”
- Sport Fishing Charters & Custom Tours (e.g., One-Day Fishing Blitz, Custom Fishing Tour):
- More than 30 days prior to tour date: 100% refund of the amount paid (less any non-refundable deposit for custom arrangements, if specified in your booking confirmation).
- 15-30 days prior to tour date: 50% refund of the amount paid.
- Less than 15 days prior to tour date: No refund.
- No-Shows / Late Arrivals: No refund.
- Multi-Day Packages & Liveaboard Expeditions (e.g., Bespoke Angler Retreats, Offshore Odyssey, Fish & Stars):
- More than 60 days prior to package start date: 100% refund of the amount paid (less any non-refundable deposit or third-party charges, if specified in your booking confirmation).
- 30-60 days prior to package start date: 50% refund of the amount paid.
- Less than 30 days prior to package start date: No refund.
- No-Shows / Late Arrivals: No refund. Clients who do not arrive at the designated meeting point by the scheduled departure time will be considered a “no-show.” PLEASE ARRIVE EARLY TO ALLOW YOURSELF ENOUGH TIME
3. Company-Initiated Cancellations
In the rare event that Mogote Fishing and Tours must cancel a tour or package due to unforeseen circumstances such as:
- Unsafe Weather Conditions: As determined by our experienced captains and local authorities (e.g., Port Captain closures).
- Mechanical Issues: Unforeseen problems with our vessels.
- Insufficient Bookings: If minimum participation is not met (you will be notified in advance).
You will be offered the choice of:
- A full refund of the amount paid.
- Rescheduling your tour/package for a future date (subject to availability).
- Receiving a credit for a future booking with Mogote Fishing and Tours.
We will endeavor to provide as much notice as possible in such situations.
4. Force Majeure & Unforeseen Circumstances
La Paz Fishing and Island Tours is not responsible for cancellations or changes due to events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of nature (hurricanes, earthquakes, etc.), government actions, epidemics, or other events of force majeure. In such cases, we will work with you to reschedule your tour or offer a credit for future use, but refunds may be subject to the terms of third-party service providers (e.g., hotels, airlines) if your package includes such elements.
5. Refund Processing
Once a refund is approved, it will be processed within 7-14 business days from the date of approval. The time it takes for the refund to appear on your statement may vary depending on your bank or credit card company.
